Disaggregated Data Collection for Black Seniors in British Columbia

In July, we’ll be collecting disaggregated data on the needs and experiences of Black seniors in BC. This research will inform the development of programs and services tailored to their unique challenges and needs. Stay tuned for updates on our findings and initiatives!

Baobab Black Seniors Care Society will be undertaking an initiative to collect disaggregated data, to highlight the unique challenges Black seniors face. We will also be convening elders to share their experiences and realities, ensuring their voices are at the forefront of the conversation.

The collection process involved will be:

1) Online Public Survey

2) Community-led engagement.

By collecting and utilizing disaggregated data, it is our desire to see the Province of British Columbia can take a significant step towards addressing systemic inequalities and improving health and social care services for Black seniors.
